Aldeburgh Suffolk UK|
Zest was designed by Knud Reimers, and built in Sweden in 1935. She was the first of 6 Tumlare yachts to come to the UK, following a visit by Roger de Quincey, a friend of Uffa Fox, to Knud Reimers in Sweden. The Tumlare class was then established at the Aldeburgh Yacht Club in Suffolk.
Zest is probably the most famous Tumlare in the UK, having been written about in glowing terms by both Uffa Fox and Adlard Coles.
Over the last few years Zest has been meticulously restored and maintained by the Aldeburgh Boatyard, and has had a very successful racing career, regularly winning at the Suffolk Yacht Regatta, as well as the Aldeburgh Regatta.
The boat is supplied with a braked, twin-axle Harbeck trailer, complete with lightboard, and also has a Torqueedo 1003CL electric motor which can be mounted on either side of the hull.
Zest is currently stored undercover at the Aldeburgh Boatyard.
